no it wont make any difference!. It might possibly cook a little faster, but I always end up using the wrong sized tin, because every recipe wants a different sized tin, and none of them say on the tin what size they are!.!.!.and I can nevr find a ruler! Just check it a little sooner than recommended when its cooking!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
If you are making a sponge cake increase the ingredients by half as much again i!.e!. instead of 4 oz flour use 6, instead os 4 oz sugar use 6 etc, otherwise your cake will be very thin indeed!. Don`t forget to line the tin & bake for about 25 mins!.
To give the cake an even texture substitute one dessertspoonful of flour for one dessertspoonful of cornflourWww@FoodAQ@Com

It shouldn't make too much difference, just be bigger round, but thinner!. You could just increase the ingredients by 1/3 and then make a lovely big cake!. That's what I would do!. Make sure you increase the amount of icing/frosting and cream/jam/butter cream filling as well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I assume you are making a cake!.
It depends what sort of cake it is!.Using the same mixture I'd turn the oven temperature down slightly and cook it a little longer, but it won't rise as high!. In general you need twice as much cake mix for each extra inch of cake tin!.
3 egg sponge in a 7" Gas Mk 4 20-25 mins
4 egg mix in an 8 etc Gas Mk3 1 hour plus minsWww@FoodAQ@Com

It will come out thinner, and may cook a little faster as a result!.
I would keep an eye on it in the oven, just to make sure that it's not overdone by cooking it for the same amount of time as you would have otherwise!.
Hope this helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com

no it won't, it will just be a little thinner, and will cook faster!. I would like to try a little piece of the cake once it is baked, sounds tasty!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Not really much difference, Whatever you are making will be slightly larger (an inch) in diameter and a little flatter!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
