Has anyone ever heard of a basted egg??!
My MIL said a basted egg is one where you keep pouring oil over the yolk while it's cooking!. She couldn't believe I'd never heard of it yet no one I know has!. Has anyone on here heard of it!? I'm wondering if it's her own invention or not!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Basting an egg is a way of cooking a "sunny side up" egg!. You keep spooning the pan juices (bacon grease, oil or butter) over the top of the egg!.
Sunny side up is also sometimes "steamed" This is a process where you cook the bottom of the egg with heat from the pan and then cover the pan and let the captured heat continue to cook the egg!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
