If the dish is very colorful on it's own, such as a stir-fry or chef's salad, a garnish might be over doing it!. That's also why real colorful food should be served on a plain plate, and not one with a busy pattern!. You want the meal to be appetizing, not gaudy!.

Otherwise, I can't think of a reason something shouldn't be garnished!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

from "Plate Presentation Primer": http://findarticles!.com/p/articles/mi_m0!.!.!.

"In some instances, garnish is not needed and, in fact, will clutter an otherwise good-looking plate!.
For example, a plate with a variety of sushi needs no embellishment, colorful as these rice-based delicacies are!."Www@FoodAQ@Com

Daily eating some do not garnish their food but if u are having a party then I feel u should so that the dish looks attractive!.More over garnish is added when u are about to serve the a dishWww@FoodAQ@Com

garnishing won't be needed if your eating alone because you don't need to please anyone else but yourself, unless you are entertaining, remember you eat with your eyes first!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
