Question: Can i use some old pickle jars to pickle my own jalapeno peppers!?
or do i need some special seal proof jars!? If not, what kind of jars work best!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
yes, the jars are reusable as long as you get new lids, which are not!. the lids have a 1-time sealing compound that can't be reused!. there are the really old jars with the rubber seals and glass lids, that are clamped down with a spring-action!.!.!. these can be reused, as long as the rubber gasket is in good shapeWww@FoodAQ@Com

You sure can!! Heck, you can even use the leftover brine (either from sweet (bread and butter pickles) or dill pickles!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Just wash and stem the Jalapenos, pour the brine into a sauce pan and bring to a boil!. Place Jalapenos in the now empty jar, take two knives (there's a reason for this: the knives absorb the heat of the brine and prevents the jar from cracking) and place them in the jar with the Jalapenos!. Carefully pour the brine over the Jalapenos!. Cool, cover and refrigerate for about 2 weeks!. Enjoy your peppers!!!

Yes, if they are approved canning jars such as Ball, Mason or Kerr jars!. You'll need new lids and seals of course!.

I wouldn't use commercial jars that pickles, jelly or peanut butter comes in because these jars aren't always heavy duty like they were several years ago!. They may break when heated in the canner!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes if they are the older Mason or Kerr jars with the screw on lids!. Boil them for about 15 minutes along with the rings and new lids!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
