Coconut oil, with it's buttery taste and texture, is actually one of the best oils for cooking almost anything, mostly due to its ability to withstand high temperatures, up to about 450F!. It is a very clean oil, and rinses easily!. Because it is composed of medium-chain fatty acids, it is easily digested for quick energy and is not readily stored as fat, as are most vegetable oils!. Foods can be deep-fried in coconut oil without the unhealthy effects resulting from frying with other vegetable oils, which cannot withstand the high temperatures!. For cooking eggs and meats, butter and lard from grass-fed animals are delicious options!. Or try a combination, such as butter, palm oil and coconut oil!. Think tropical oils are unhealthy!? Think again!. Want to be really healthy!? Forget about cooking and eat it raw!Www@FoodAQ@Com

well it kind of depends on what your doing with the oil!. if you are deep frying you would like a light colored oil like canola or vegetable!. peanut is acctually best for that application because it has a suttle flavor that won't overwhelm your food, and it has a "long life" which translates to you can use it more than once and it also has a high smoke temp so there won't be alot of smoke!. otherwise, for sauteeing and things in that genre i always use olive oil!.!.!.its supposed to be really good for you! however, i never never ever use olive oil for baking!!! i learned that the hard way and trust me it don't taste good!. always use a light colored oil for baking!Www@FoodAQ@Com

for baking: canola, vegetable
for frying: peanut, vegetable
for sauteeing: olive, safflower
for salad dressing-extra virgin olive
all these oils have 0-5mg of chlrstrl!. per 100 grams, so not much at all!.
however all animal fats (butter, lard) are loaded with it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Coconut oil is the best oil to cook with because when olive oil or peanut oil are heated their chemical make up changes and they can become carcinogenic (cancer causing)!.
Coconut oil is your best bet and it tastes amazing!! =]Www@FoodAQ@Com

No olive oil!.!.!.too fattening!!!!! Plus it does not have a high burning temp!.!.!.!.so the food doesn't cook when it hits the oil!.!.!.!.because the oil can't get hot enough!.!.!.!.the food then absorbs the oil!. Cook with canola oil or light vegetable oil!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

MILD olive oil is good for cholesterol and can be cooked with!.!.!.!. Extra virgin olive oil is NOT good for cooking, since it will smoke and burn at a lower temperatureWww@FoodAQ@Com
