Beans in a slow cooker?!

Question: Beans in a slow cooker!?
Hey how can i make beans in my slow cooker!? I want to put meat in them too!.!.!.i think its pork!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Just pick through and wash beans!. Anykind of dried beans will work!. Most people use a 1 lb bag in a regular size crockpot!. Put beans in and pour in water to about an inch from top of pot and add meat if wanted!. Place on lid, turn pot on high and walk away! After beans are done season with salt, pepper, chiles or whatever you like!. I usually put my beans on in the morning for the evening meal!. If they are done (soft) early I turn the pot to the low or keep warm cycle until time to eat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Here you go

Slow Cooker Pinto Beans Recipe

1 pound dry pinto beans
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 pound ham hocks, or 1/4 pound streak o' lean
4 cups water
1 onion, chopped
House Seasoning, recipe follows

Wash the beans and soak overnight in cold water!. Drain the beans and dump into slow cooker!. Stir in chili powder and oregano!.
If using ham hock: Pre-soak ham in a separate pot, for at least 2, or refrigerated up to 24 hours, depending on how salty you want your stock to be!. Add ham hock to slow cooker with beans and pour in ham soaking liquid!. Add more water until ham hock is completely covered!.

If using streak o' lean: Cut into cubes, brown in a skillet, and place the meat and any rendered fat in the slow cooker with beans!. Pour 4 cups water into pot!.

Add onion to slow cooker with beans and meat!. Stir well!. Season, to taste, with House Seasoning, cover the pot, and cook on high until beans are very tender, about 5 hours!.

House Seasoning:

1 cup salt
1/4 cup black pepper
1/4 cup garlic powder
Mix ingredients together and store in an airtight container for up to 6 months!.
Yield: 1 1/2 cups

If you don't want baked beans then what kind do you want!?
If using dried beans of any kind, soak them overnight first!.
Otherwise, boil for 10 minutes & let soak for an hour first!.
You can use a pork hock or cut up left-over ham!.

Take a can of crushed tomatoes, 1 large onion chopped,
2 bell peppers chopped, 1/2 cup water, 2 tbsp chilli powder,
1 tbsp cider vinegar, minced cloves of garlic (to taste)!.
Combine in crock pot with 2 cans your choice of beans!.
Cover & cook until tender, 6 hours on Low, or 3 hours High!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if you live in alkali or hard water country, buy bottled water to fill your crock pot!.

sort all rocks out of your beans, rinse under running tap water to get remaining dirt off them!.

in 2!.5 qt!. crock pot use 3 cups dried beans!.
put in ham bone or whatever else you have!.
turn crock on to high til it comes to boil, then turn down to low and ignore for next 8 to 12 hours other than to add more boiling water as necessary!.

Then season with diced onion, salt, pepper, chile, whatever else you want if you want any of these added!.
