What do you do/make with chickpeas?!
Answers:
we have two alltime favourites:
1!. Hummus!. Pure the chickpeas with lemon juice, water from the chickpeas (especially if you boiled them yourself), 2-4 cloves garlic, depending on preference, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper!. We do not use Tahini as it is made out of sesame paste and so many kids now adays have sesame seed allergies!. Rather safe than triggering someone to an anaphylactic shock! When serving we sprinkle a little bit of oliveoil and paprika on top so it looks nice!. Great to serve with chips or veggie stick or as a spread on bread!.
2!. Chana Masala - indian chick peas!. In a pot heat some olive oil!. add ground cumin seeds, curry powder, garam masala, ground coriander, chopped garlic, grated or dried ginger, onions and let it brown!. Then add the Chickpeas and stir!. Add cubed tomatoes and let simmer for at least 15 min!. You can prepare this tasty dish long in advance and reheat serve with rice, as a side dish!. The longer it stands the better the flavours!.
We also love using the chickpeas in salats or just as a snack!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
