That person was correct!. They'll get mushy!. If you want to cook them in the slow cooker, just add them for the last 30 min-60 min of cooking!. Alternatively, you can precook the noodles and then add them just before the dish is ready to be served!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I think you can, but you might want to experiment with it a bit!. Basically you would make the spaghetti sauce in the crock pot and let it simmer all day!. When you get home, add some extra water (start with about a cup) and wait for the sauce to start to simmer again!. Then add the dry spaghetti noodles!. Check every 5 minutes or so to see if the noodles are done enough, then turn it off and serve it immediately!.
My sister in law has a recipe for Lasagna where you assemble it with dry noodles and add water to the pan before you bake it, or maybe you add the water and let it sit overnight before baking (I can't remember)!. The concept is the same, though!. The pasta just needs to be "reconstituted" with some extra water!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Because I am not a cook I deferred question to my mom who has cooked for over 70 yrs!. She states,"Crock pots are for cooking food items that usually require a longer period of cooking time (ie!. pot stew)!. She imagined if oil is added it may be okay!. But you be better off using a top stove!. Pasta dishes are popular not only for their delicious taste but for their quick and easy prep!." I think you will end w/mush the longer the pasta cook!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
You can make spaghetti SAUCE in a crock pot, but I wouldn't think of cooking pasta in one!. Put the pasta in a pot of water and bring to a boil!. It's ready in under 10 minutes!. Drain, and serve with the sauce!. Couldn't be easier!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
The starches will break down and the noodles will become like a sticky, soupy, pastey blob!. I wouldn't do it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
