This is going to sound really dumb but when cooking lasagna do you cook noodles before hand?!
Answers:
Some people will let their lasagna noodles boil for a little bit of time just to soften them, and others won't bother with that at all!.!. just be careful when layering the hard noodles because they break easily!. ;-) I've used both ways!. Just make sure to bake the lasagna long enough if you don't preboil the noodles!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I used to boil the noodles 1st - but after my friend told me she doesnt and I tried it, it was good - and alot easier!. You can use
regular noodles to - they sell the no cook noodles but they are more expensive
I usually just spread a decent layer of sauce on the bottom of the pan - layer as usual!. I bake it coverering it with alum foil the last 20 minutes or soWww@FoodAQ@Com

Not at all!. Atleast the Italians would never do so!. Part of the integration is that all the sauces and flavours cook into the noodles!. I guess some americans like to do a shortcut by cooking the noodles first, to safe oven time!. But honestly safe yourself the trouble and just cook it plainly!.
ps!. real lasagne is made with bechamel sauce (white sauce) instead of all the cheeses!. Italians only use cheese on the top to gratinate!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are two different store bought boxed kinds of lalsagne noodles!. One is where you have to boil the noodles first and the other ones say "oven ready" on the box meaning you don't need to boil them first!. The ones you boil first (then drain and rinse off with cold water) are much better as the no boil ones are usually very doughy and starchy tasting!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I make mine all the time without cooking the noodles first!. Just use a little more sauce than you think you'd need!. The most important thing is " definitely cover it with aluminum foil" for the first 45 mins!. Bake uncovered after that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
You don't have to!. You can use a special "no bake" noodle, or you can even use regular noodles if you add some extra liquid to the sauce and seal it up while it bakes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
You can, but I have heard you do not have to!. Read the instructions on the box!. If you do cook them, drain them really well or your lasagna will be soupy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Not so dumb!. It depends on the noodles!. Sometimes you don't because the box says you don't!. I would check the box!. Most of the time you have to, but not always!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Not at all!. Yes, the noodles are cooked before you layer them!.
That way the sauce and flavors will penetrate the noodles!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
