Question about strawberries?!

Question: Question about strawberries!?
A recipe I have calls for 6 pureed strawberries!. But I already have some strawberries pureed leftover in the freezer but how do I know how much pf the puree equals 6 whole strawberries!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Seeing as strawberries are solid (no seed cavity etc) you could guesstimate the approx!. size, a rounded Tablespoon for example!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The main issue is defrosting some but not all of the puree!. Do you have a use for the rest!? (Like, as a sauce over ice cream!.) If it's an old home recipe, figure 1/2 tsp!. puree per strawberry!. If it's a new cuisine dish (art deco plates, tiny sculptured portions - but HUGE strawberries) , figure 1-1/2 Tbsp!. per strawberry!. (The provenance of your recipe makes quite a difference in the portion amounts!.) Figure smaller ones if the recipe is over 10-20 years old and makes no specific mention!. When you have the approximate amount defrosted, measure and, if recipe allows for it, sample the results to fine-tune the amount!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would guesstimate that 6 strawberries would equal 1/2 cup, if the recipe calls for other liquid add it after the puree and just work with the consistency from there!. if it's a drink or something of that nature it will not make any difference!. Good Luck!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

1 pint of berries will yield about 1 1/2 cups puree!.

1 pint usually contains 16-20 berrys, so

So about a third of a cup (or a little under) of already pureed berrys should do it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well 6 whole pureed strawberries shouldnt be much! You probably have enough just to be sure use half or quarters of it and see if it fills out the cake batter or somethin else!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

1/4 cup should be the sameWww@FoodAQ@Com

6-10 TablespoonsWww@FoodAQ@Com

I would just guess that like 2 tablespoons = 1 strawberry!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

About 6-8tspWww@FoodAQ@Com

That`s about 1/4 cup!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'd go with Cali's guess too!. One mashed strawberry is probably a TBSP!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
