Instead of cooking rice with water, I use chicken broth, the low sodium kind!. Sometimes I add some minced garlic, or an herb or spice that matches what I'm cooking!. If I'm roasting chicken for example, I'll use sage!.

The simple measurement is 2 cups of liquid and one cup of rice equals three cups of cooked rice!. Rinse rice until water is clear, this prevents cooked rice from being sticky!. I use broth instead of water!. Vegetable, chicken or beef broth depending on what I am serving it with!. Add rinsed rice!. broth and 1 teaspoon of salt to a 3 quart pot with lid!. Bring to a boil, stir, reduce heat to simmer!. Cover with lid and cook for 25 minutes!. Do not remove lid until 25 minutes is up!. Pour 1 teaspoon of vinegar over rice and fluff with a fork!. Rice is good alone or with gravy or a sauce!. For rice pilaf add sliced mushrooms, diced carrots and green peas!.
