Replace the white sugar called for in the recipe with brown sugar!.!.!.!.!.!.!.and the "shortening" whether it be butter or margarine, MELT it first before incorporating it into your recipe!.!.!.!.!.That will make chewy cookies!.!.!.!.!.And underbake them by about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes!.!.!.!.!.!.

bake them no longer than 10 min!. and if they aren't fully cooked all the way just let them sit in the pan and they will harden up enough to pick up and eat after awhile but they will be nice and chewy and not hard and crispy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Under cook them and then do not seal your cookies in a air tight container!. If you leave them out (not sealed) you will have chewy cookies!. Now I don't mean for a week or two! LOL!. When you seal up cookies they tend to dry out but when the moister can get to them they stay chewy!.

Underbake them a little bit, and use an insulated cookie sheet!. Cook for a minute or two less than the recipe says, and then let them sit on the cookie sheet long enough to harden up a bit so you can lift them off without them bending!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Two possible solutions:

(1) Take them out of the oven JUST BEFORE the edges are brown

(2) Swap out half of the white sugar for brown- the molasses can inhibit the crystallization process, making them a bit softer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Don't bake them as long, keep them in a sealed container, and you can also store them with a slice of apple to keep them moist!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

take them out the oven when they are brown not dark brownWww@FoodAQ@Com
