need either one of these , they are in the cake mix of your choice!.chocolate in chocolate, vanilla in yellow,or white cake mix!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Heres a real basic butter cake receipe:

50grams butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup milk
Cream butter and sugar together till creamy, add eggs one at a time and beat till creamy add dry ingrediants, then add the milk!.
If you have a electric mixer blend well for a couple of minutes, if not use a wooden spoon!.

Pour into a buttered cake pan and bake for about 20 minutes or until skewer comes out clean!. 180oc or 350oF
Ice with lemon icing or what ever frosting you like!.

This receipe can been made into any type of cake!.
Chocolate: Add 2 Tablespoon cocoa, when cooked and cool, ice with chocolate icing or chocolate frosting!.

Lemon Cake halve the milk mixture and add 1/2 cup of lemon juice and grate some lemon rind into mixture!.

Apple and Cinnamon Cake: Add 2 teaspoons cinnamon to mixture!. Peel and slice 2 apples (any type) and lay at the bottom of the buttered baking pan sprinkle a little cinnamon over the apple and then sprinkle 2 tablespoons brown sugar over the apples!. Then pour the cake batter over the top!.
When cooked turn out of pan!. The apple will be on the top of the cake!. This is a great cake for dessert as well as a cake to snack on!.

Coffee Cake: Add 1 tablespoon instant coffee dissolved in 1 tablespoon boiling water to the basic butter cake mixture!. When cooked ice with coffee icing!.

Icing:
25 grams butter (melted)
2 cups icing sugar
a little warm water to mix!.
Mix water a drop at a time so that the icing is not to runny!.
Add what ever flavourings you want!.
1 Tablespoon cocoa for chocolate
2 teaspoons instant coffe for coffee icing!.
Lemon juice insted of water for lemon!.

No, you can make plenty of different cakes without using cocoa or vanilla, if that's what you mean :)

No-it will be awfully bland with no flavoring of any sort, though!.

Baking powder and baking soda are not the same thing at all and it depends on the recipe-some use both,some only one!. Since you have internet access you should be able to find a recipe to fit your ingredients!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You only need cocoa if you want to make a chocolate cake!. Vanilla essence is optional, but is good to add to a plain sponge cake or muffin recipe, but again it's not absolutely necessary!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I always use vanilla when i bake a cake or a slice,i would concider using vanilla though,If you want to make a chocolate cake yes do use cocoaWww@FoodAQ@Com
