Toasted mayo, death or dish???!

Question: Toasted mayo, death or dish!?!?!?
Recently i went into a deli bar and ordered a chicken wrap to go, toasted etc etc!. As a rule i don't like mayo so i didn't order any for a start!. To my surprise when i opened my wrap which had been toasted i found a load of mayo smeared all over the chicken!.!.!.!.i always thought it was a health hazard to cook mayo!?!?!?
My question is this, is it a health hazard to heat, cook, roast or heat up Mayonnaise, or am i thinking of egg mayonaise!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Mayonnaise is made from raw egg yolk, cooking oil, vinegar, lemon juice, mustard, salt and pepper!. Cooking it doesn't hurt it a bit!. In fact, some people won't eat it unless it's cooked because of the raw egg yolks!.

It is a hazzard to eat mayo if it's been left unrefrigerated very long!. That's why it's not a good idea to take potato salad made with a mayo based dressing on a picnic, unless it's kept in a cooler!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

As the mayo - or any other sort of relish for that matter - is put on AFTER the other stuff has been cooked and is put on freshly from a jar, there is no "health hazard" whatsoever if you're going to eat it (more or less) straight away!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Of course you can heat mayo!. Just think of things like baked Artichoke dip with mayo in it !.!.!. tuna melts, smearing mayo on hamburgers, etc!.

You're confusing the rule of thumb about keeping things with mayo from getting to room tempurature!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Mayo can be used in cooked and heated dishes, as long as it is eaten soon, not allowed to sit at room temp for a long time!. Besides that mayo had a preservative in it, not like fresh homemade with raw eggs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

it isn't a health hazard to eat cooked mayo, it's when it sits out in heat that germs and organisms gather over time making it unsafe!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

MMmm yum lol
They probs cooked everything then added the mayo
afterwards

well i don't think they could cook it, maybe they put it on while it was still warm!. i love me the mayoWww@FoodAQ@Com

did you eat it!? are you still alive!? if yes, don't worry about itWww@FoodAQ@Com
