I am trying an old recipe I found. One of the ingredients is "sweet milk." Anyone know what that is?!

regular milk that you'd pour on cereal!.

In the old days, they had sweet milk, until it turned sour, then it was called buttermilk!. They are just tryign to specify if it's the milk you got that morning from your cow, or the milk left on the table from last night that has curdled!. :-)Www@FoodAQ@Com

SWEET MILK

You will usually find this ingredient in older recipes!. Sweet Milk refers to Whole Milk!.

Years ago products were not as readily available or as well marked!. Sweet Milk was used so that it would not be confused with Buttermilk or Sour Cream!.

It is regular milk!. To differentiate between buttermilk and fresh milk the term sweet milk was used!. Assume whole milk, not one of the lower fat varieties!.

Sweet milk is just plain milk!. I used to go visit my great grandmother when I was a child and that is how she referred to regular milk!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
