How long will sauce be good?!
I want to send my boyfriend in Iraq some Raising Cane's sauce!. He loves it!. You can get a bunch of it at the restaurant, but it'll come in a flimsy little container!.
Can I put the sauce in a mason jar and mail it like that!? Will it keep for a week while it's flying over there!? I don't want it to be a jar of really grossness when it gets there!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Raising Cane's sauce is definitely mayo based!. Raising Cane isn't a store, it's a restaurant!. Those little containers they give you are individual servings, and they aren't processed and sealed so it can be left unrefrigerated!.
Unless it's in a factory processed and sealed jar like you get in a supermarket, you can NOT leave mayonnaise based dressings unrefrigerated for more than an hour or two!. They become filled with deadly bacteria!.
No amount of bubble wrap will help!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If I were you I would try to find some in it's original packing!. If you put something in a mason jar I'm sure they would not let that go through!. If the flimsy little container is sealed from the factory, you can put it in a box with packing peanuts!. Just imagine if some terrorist sends things in mason jars, lol!. I'm sure he would appreciate getting it instead of reading that you sent it and they sent it back!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
As long as it isn't refrigerated there at the store then you can ship it, It will be fine for shipping and will taste great when it gets there!.
also, you should wrap each one in Bubble Wrap!. I would NOT NOT NOT open them all up and put in a mason jar!. Not at all!.
Leave it as you bought it and make sure Lots of bubble wrap and you will be fine!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would try the Mason Jar thing -- at least it will be a better container than the container from the restaurant!. While you're at it google search how to actually preserve the sauce in the jar and it might last more than a week!. My mom used to can tomatoes and other sauce's when I was growing up!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Just write a letter to the home office telling them that you would like to have their most excellent sauce sent to your boyfriend in Iraq, but you don't know how to safely do it!. Most people in Louisiana still support our military, so you will probably get a good response!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Don't do it!.
If you try dry ice it will freeze the mayo cuasing it to separate and look like vomit!.
The dry ice is only good for 1-2 days depending on how much you use and is very expensive to waste!.
Go out to eat when he gets back!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

NO, you can' t send it!. It HAS to be under refrigeration! Unless you can figure out how to pack it w/ dry ice, you may as well wait until he gets home and go eat at Raising Cane's on teh way home from the airport!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
