Use your oven!. Cut the meat up into 1 inch pieces and brown the pieces in oil!. Preheat the oven to 300!. Put everything into a casserole and bake it!. It should be done in about 1 1/2 to 2 hours!. The meat is done when it falls apart!.
I'm afraid your slow cooker will just ruin this for you!. Hopefully it isn't 95 degrees in your area like it is here!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes, its just fine to turn it up!. since you have a medium setting on your crockpot, do two hours on high and leave it on medium!. check it frequently!.
i almost never have enough time and i've figured that the formula is 2=1!. so when it calls for 8 hours on low, 4 hours on high will do the same thing!. i've never had a crockpot that has medium!. just remember that you're still slow cooking, so the meat isn't going to be toughened too much by speeding it up a little!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Since your meat portion is smaller, the cookling time would be less!. But I'm not sure if four hours would be enough time in the crock pot set at high!. I recommend cooking your meat in the oven at 325 degrees!. You should use some liquid in the roasting pan to braise the meat!. Four hours at that temperature should be enough time to ensure a tender cooked meal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
is it a pot roast!? the best thing to do is set it on high for the first two hours, then put it on low until its time to eat!. If you plan on putting veggies in it then it will take longer to cook, so i suggest cooking them seperatly!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Usually 8 hours on Low is equivalent to 4 hours on High!.
You might want to brown the meat before putting it in!.
Low & slow is better for tenderness, of course!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
