What Should I do With Frozen Okra?!

Question: What Should I do With Frozen Okra!?
Hi, I bought frozen okra because my local grocery store was out of fresh!. It has directions to either boil or zap in the microwave and then season!. The question is: after I've either boiled or zapped, how should I season it!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
To get the most out of the okra, you need to fry it in bacon drippings!. Prepare the okra by soaking it in buttermilk!. Take a zip top bag and add 3/4 c!. flour and 3/4 c!. cornmeal (not mix) 1/2 t!. salt and 1/2 t!. pepper!. Shake off the excess buttermilk and put the okra in the baggie shake until coated and cook in the drippings (or shortening or oil) until deliciously golden brown!.

If that seems too fattening, preheat the oven to 350F, and season some fine cornmeal with salt and pepper in a dish!. Put the thawed okra in there and shake it around until dusted!. Add (a little at a time) some water or milk and pull the okra from the bottom up until the cornmeal is something like batter!. Spray a cookie sheet with non-fat (butter flavored) cooking spray and put the okra on there!. Spray the okra liberally with the spray!. Bake it for about 15 minutes until golden deliciously brown!.

Shame they don't make bacon flavored non-fat cook spray huh!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Adobo Seasoning or Cavanah's Greek Seasoning some Sea salt or Kosher salt and you can put a tsp!. of vinegar or sqeeze lemon over it before adding the seasoning if you want it to have a kick!. You can also use a little butter and then sprinkle your seasonings!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

instead of following the directions, let it thaw slightly in a strainer, just enough so it has a little liquid on it!. Roll in corn-meal with salt and pepper, fry, there you have it fried okra!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
