Can I use white sugar instead of brown sugar for topping of apple crumble?!
Answers:
yes u can use white sugar rather than brown sugar!. i know my wife does that occasionaly when we run out of brown sugar!. However she does a substitute she adds 1/2 tsp of maple flavoring per 1 cup of white sugar (you can add mare to make it darker)!. and it tastes pretty much the exact same!. to be honest i dont think i could ever tell the differanceWww@FoodAQ@Com
I have a standard answer
"who told you cooking is an exact science"
use the cookies,, use gram crackers,, chop up the Walnuts,, Almonds,, Raisins,, Pecans, etc hey even lemon zest
why not before the crumbs lay down a few slices of Kiwi for a surprise colorWww@FoodAQ@Com

It is not a good idea to use it!. Brown sugar caramelizes while white sugar does not!. The taste and texture will be quite different as well as the appeal( the way it looks)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
it's not the same, tastes different, isn't the same consistency!.!.!. you're better off using brown sugar!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
well yes but it will be quite a pale crumble and might taste different what with all the bleaches or whatever in white sugarWww@FoodAQ@Com
sure, but it will taste different and look different!. you better off going to the store and buying some brown sugar!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
