The butter needs to be COLD!.!.!. and you'd cut it into little pieces before cutting it with forks or a pastry cutter!.!.!.!. it should resemble cornmeal!. You need the crumbs of butter for it to have the right consistency!. A smooth blend will NOT work!.!.!.!. You'll need to start over with COLD butter, but you can used the creamed mixture for other bars!.!.!.!.!.!.
If I knew how much butter, etc!. you used, I'd give you a recipe for Blondies, for the creamed mixture that you have:)Www@FoodAQ@Com

That probably happened because you used really soft butter!. To get the coarse crumbles, you have to cut in really cold, hard butter!.
What does the rest of the recipe say!? I'm assuming this is a bar cookie type of recipe, and if so, it should all come out in the wash!. If it's not, then you might want to refrigerate the dough for a half hour or so before you start putting it on the sheets!. Otherwise, the finished product won't be as solid - it will be kind of crumbly!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

"cut in" means to mix it in with a fork or knife so that the mixture is crumbly!. if you're just mixing it with a spatula, you'll mix in all the butter!. the purpose of "cutting it in" is to keep some of the butter in little chunks so that it makes steam more evenly and makes for a fluffier/flaker crust/pastry!. good luck! if you started with warm-ish butter, cutting in is next to impossible!. you should be ok--no worries!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Coarse crumbles means that they are looking for very small chunks of butter!. It would be similar to what you would find if you bought crumbled blue cheese (or any other kind of crumbled cheese)!.
In mixtures like these, too much stirring will toughen the mixture, and the end result will be also be much tougher!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Course crumbles would look like little pebbles!. If you cut in the butter directly from the fridge it should stiffen up the batter!. If you add melted butter it would turn out more dough like!. If you already added it, you may have stirred it to much!. Don't worry about it!. Just proceed!. It may not set up exactly the same, but it will still taste good!. They sound yummy!.!.!.!.!.!.!.enjoy!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
you are suppose to cut the butter in with a fork!. It is a rather annoying proccess but you cant mix it with your hands or with a beater cause the butter will melt and you will not have crumbles!. It looks sort of lie little beads of dough, the size of small peasWww@FoodAQ@Com
Did you use cold butter!? If not you won't get the coarse crumbles, which are basically small balls of dough, kinda of what you get when you make a crumble topping!. If it's too late, you'll be fine, just bake what you have!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
