Answers:
Yeah!.!.you MUST use really really cold butter!.
The only thing I would suggest to TRY to fix it would be putting it in the fridge for 30 minutes, and continure to follow the recipe!. But it may not work out, since the butter has to be cold before mixing it in!. Give it a try though!

Refrigerate the dough for a while, that will firm up the butter a bit!. Then break it by running 2 knives through it breaking up the chilled dough!. You should have crumbles that resemble "peas"!.
Or you could freeze the dough now then grate it on a box grater then pat it into the pan you will be cooking it in!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Did you use cold butter!? If not you won't get the coarse crumbles, which are basically small balls of dough, kinda of what you get when you make a crumble topping!. If it's too late, you'll be fine, just bake what you have!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
try adding a little bit more of the solid ingredients a little bit at a time until you get some that is crumble like!.!.!. (think crumple pie or homemade graham cracker cheesecake crust!.!.!.) and then your good to goWww@FoodAQ@Com
Your butter needs to be cold in order for you to be able to 'cut it in until the mixture resembles coarse crumbles'!.
