I ws wondering if anyone has a recipe for cooking an eye roast on top of the stove. 2 hot for an oven!?!
I have been cooking eye roast for years (family fav) but always for hours in an oven!. Since it's a heat wave I was told it could also be done on the stove top!. I haven't a clue!. Any input!?!? I really appreciate it!Www@FoodAQ@Com

just cook it on a very low simmer seasoned just as you would in the oven!.!.!.you could use beef broth and onion and keep a check to make sure it has plenty of liquid!.!.!.i would let it cook a good bit and allow it to become tender before adding carrots and potatoes!.!.!. but if you are worried about it being to hot!.!.!.i would suggest cooking it in a crockpot!.!.!.they work wonderfully and are great to use year round!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

6 medium red potatoes, quartered
6 turnips, peeled and cut into chunks

Fill the pot with enough water to cover the roast!. Add the onion, garlic, celery, basil, salt and pepper!. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 2 hours and 15 minutes, adding water if needed to keep the roast covered!. Add potatoes and turnips; simmer for an additional 15 minutes!. Add carrots; simmer for 30 minutes, or until roast can be pulled apart with a fork!. Taste, and adjust salt and pepper if needed before serving!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
