How do i cook green beans?!


Question: How do i cook green beans!?
i got them from the market, and i was wondering
do i just boil them!?
to cook them
for about how long

1!. Wash them
2!. Cut off the ends
3!. Boil them for about 3 minutes until they turn bright green
4!. Stick them in cold water so they stop cooking
5!. Saute them in a saucepan with a little olive oil, salt and pepper!.

You can get fancy and add onions and bacon to the last step too!. In which case fry bacon first, then saute the onions in the bacon fat until they caramelize, then toss in the green beans for a couple of minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Depends on how you want them!. Yes, you can boil them in a pot if their frozen!. Fresh beans you can put in a skillet, throw some olive oil or just butter, stir arouund for a couple minutes until hot!. The skillet should be on about a little over medium!. I trim mine up and then cook them in a little chicken broth!. While they are cooking, I saute up about 3 slices of platter bacon, chopped and some yellow onion!. I cook them several ways, but I just learned to roast them!.!.!.!.!.!.
after washing and trimming ends off, toss with olive oil, salt and pepper!. Place in a single layer on a cookie sheet in a 425 degree oven and roast for 20 minutes!.

Bruno has it down to the perfect recipe, that is exactly how I would cook them!. I do use shallots when I saute my green beans with olive oil, salt, pepper and a pad or 2 of butter!. A little minced garlic is also good to add!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yum! Green beans are some good!. You can "nuke" them too!.!.!. top and tail them, place in a dish with just a splash of water and nuke on hi for 2 minutes, drain and put grated cheese over them while they are still hot!.

I snap the ends off!.!.!.!.someone told me a long time ago not to use a knife to cut the ends off!.!.!.!.why, I don't know!. I put them in a pot of water with some salt pork for flavoring!. ohhhhh, my favorite thing ever---fresh green beans from the market! parboil them until they are bright green and then toss with butter (real butter!) or olive oil and fresh crushed garlic in a low-heat skillet!.
