Eating slimy chicken?!

Question: Eating slimy chicken!?
So, a few times the raw chicken I'm cooking has a sliminess feel to it, and I read that that's a sign of rottenness!. It doesn't smell any worse than chicken usually does, and there's no color change!. I've cooked and we've eaten it before like that, and nothing happened, but I suddenly got worried about the dinner tonight that its in the crock pot!. There's seasoning and a sauce and everything, so I'm really just wondering if I need to be concerned!? I'll stop using it form now on if there is a sliminess to it, I just didn't know!.

I mean, it should be ok since we've eaten it before, right!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I've found the best test for chicken is the smell test!. Chicken smells horrible when it starts to turn!. If it's slimy, always wash it before you use it- then smell it!. It shouldn't have much of a smell when it's raw!. Be very very careful with chicken!. I've had some really bad experiences with bad chicken!. My Dad used to call it "the green apple dirties"
Gross, eh!? But funny too!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Believe me you will know if it is bad!. He will stink the high heavens!. I've made the mistake of getting some that was bad!. I took it back to the store and got my money back!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it doesn't smell bad, and wasn't past the expiration date, and wasn't left out of the refrigerator very long - then it should be fine!. Do you WASH the chicken well before baking it!? That should get rid of any slimey-nessWww@FoodAQ@Com

Listen, kitten!. Some food you just DO NOT take any chances with and chicken is at the top of my paranoid list!. Slimy is not a good thing!. Get rid of it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you ever have to question "Is this good" then it's best to throw it out and not eat it!. Better to be safe than sorry!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
