Answers:
At my house we make iced tea ALL the time!. We use a tea pot and boil the water!. After it boils we put 1/4 cup of sugar (add more depending on how u like) in with a gallon tea bag and let the tea bag soak for about 10-20mins!. Then add water until it fills the top of the pitcher!. Then just pour it over ice!. You can refrigerate if you want but I usually leave it out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Start with cold water!. Use a name brand tea bag!. Generic or store brand bags are weak and leave a lot of dregs in the bottom of the pitcher!.
Put two quarts of water on to heat!. DO NOT let it boil!. Remove it from the heat just the moment it wants to bubble!.
Remove 8 teabags from the wrappers!. Hang onto them in a bunch by the paper tags!.
As soon as the water is ready plonk the bags into the water and leave the tag ends hang outside of the pan and put the lid on!. Set it aside and let it completely cool down!. DO NOT squeeze the excess tea out to the bags!. This will add bitterness to the iced tea!.
When it has cooled pour the steeped tea into a 1/2 gallon pitcher and fill with water!. You can experiment here a little with how much water you add to make it weaker or stronger!.
If you want sweet tea you will have to experiment a little with the amount of sugar or sweetener you use!. I like about 1/2 cup in a half gallon!.
The trick to haveing nice clear non bitter tea is not letting the water come to a full rolling boil!. When the water gets that hot it releases all the hard minerals into the water and also makes the tea bitter and cloudy!. Cheap tea bags too make it cloudy!.
Unless you're going to serve your tea to a crowd of people don't put ice into the full pitcher of tea as this will cause it to dilute too much; just fill your individual glass with ice and enjoy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I make "moon" tea!.!.!.

Before you begin I find I have better flavor if I remove the paper from the tea bags, not the "bag" but the brand tag on the other end of the string!. Believe it or not sometimes the paper can make your tea taste "off!."

I take a gallon pitcher and put 8 Red Rose (you can use another brand!.!.!. but I personally think Lipton sucks rocks) tea bags and 2 Vanilla Tea or Blackberry Tea or some other flavored tea I like in it!. (I find that just a hint of another tea flavor really enhances iced tea!.)

Then I pour 1 quart of lukewarm water over it and let it sit out on the counter for 30 minutes (approximate, I've left it as long as an hour or two and it's always fine!.)

Then I fill the pitcher almost to the top with cold water and refrigerate overnight!. Remove the tea bags in the morning and add sugar to taste if you like it sweet (I don't!.)

The problem with "brewing" tea, that is, pouring boiling hot water over it and letting it steep, is that all the bitterness comes out of the tea and the tannins!. I don't like my tea to have any bitterness, but I do like "flavor!." So this recipe is my solution to the problem!. I am very, very picky about my iced tea!.!.!.

Sun tea is a great choice when the weather's favorable; just make sure to use plenty of tea bags and sample it for flavor after about 3 hours!. You definitely don't want it out there more than four or it starts tasting like bad apple juice!.

Alternately, make a very strong tea with boiling water and either add lots of ice (for a quick cool; the ice will melt and dilute the tea) or dilute with water and refrigerate (for a slower cool)!. That's how lots of coffee shops do it!.

Now there is the sticky point that you haven't mentioned -- what flavor profile are you going for!? If you are looking for something Snapply, you may want to dilute it with lemonade instead of water -- that'll get you something called an Arnold Palmer or a half-and-half!. It's not quite the same as instant or fountain iced tea, but it's probably the closest thing homemade!. Otherwise, straight sugar or sugar syrup if you like southern-style sweet tea, or just straight up if you're a purist like me!. (I've never gotten a satisfactory cup of iced tea adding lemon and sugar after the fact, and I just sort of got used to liking it plain!. I may be a bit unusual in that respect!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com

for every 8 ounces of water use 1 tea bag only!. Boil the water then put the tea bags in for 3-4 minutes!. I dont like sugar in tea so I use diet sweetner packets after I pour it only dont pre sweeten it you will notice a difference!. fill a glass with ice sqeeze a lemon wedge leave that in the glass add your sweetner/sugar and pour the tea over that stir it well and it will be good!. another thing is making sun tea where you take a big glass container with a lid and add the appropriate amount of tea bags and let it naturally steep in the sunlight and then prepare it the same way still!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ok first how much do u want to make!?!?
For a gallon Take about 2 cups of water and bring it to a boil, take 1 and a half cups of sugar add that to the boiling water, take about 8 LIPTON tea bags put them into the boiling water, turn off stove and let sit for about an 1/2 hour to 20 minutes!.
dump it into your jug, add plenty of ice, Squeeze out your tea bags into your jug, and run them under cold water in the same pot that you boiled them in,( basically rince them ) and squeeze them again into your jug, do this a few times, to get all of the tea out!.
Let it cool, Only add the water that you use to boil and rinse the tea bags in, to much water and ice will make it weak!.
Let it cool, Taste it you may need to add more sugar,The trick is to make sure the tea is sweet!.

good Luck!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Start with a good tea, preferably one made for making iced tea!. I think Luzianne is far better than Lipton; Red Rose works well, too!. If you buy the family size tea bags, use one bag per quart of tea; if you buy the individual size tea bags, use four per quart of tea!. Remove the paper or plastic tags, but leave the strings on the tea bags and leave the tea bags intact!.

Use 3 c of cold or cool water for each quart of tea you want to make!. Heat the water in a pan on the stove or in a glass jar in the microwave until small bubbles form on the sides and bottom of the pan or jar!. Remove pan from heat and add tea bags!. I always dunk the tea bags to get them wet instead of just laying them on the surface of the water!.

If tea steeps too long, it will become bitter!. Steep for 3 to 4 minutes, then remove the tea bags; don't squeeze the tea bags!. If you like, you can let the tea cool before putting it in your pitcher or other container!. The amount of ice you'll need in your pitcher depends on whether you let the tea cool after removing the tea bags and whether you're going to drink (or serve) it immediately or put it in the refrigerator!. If you just removed the tea bags and you're going to drink the tea immediately, put 2 c of ice per quart of tea in your pitcher, then pour the tea over the ice!. Fill your glass with ice, then fill your glass from the pitcher!. If you let the tea cool and you're going to put it in the refrigerator, use 1 c of ice per quart of tea, pour the tea over the ice, then refrigerate!. If you let the tea cool and are going to serve it immediately, use about 1!.5 c ice per quart of tea!.

If you just want to make a single glass of iced tea, use one individual size tea bag and 8 ounces of water!. Pour steeped tea over a glass full of ice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Use 3 family size tea bags(Lipton)!. Put in a pot with 3 or 4 cups of cold water, bring it to a boil!. Set it aside with a lid and let it steep till cold!. Now put 1 cup of sugar in a gallon jug, put a little hot water i and stir till disolved!. Pour the tea in the jug, squeeze the bags gently to get all the juice!. Stir into tth jug and fill the rest wit cold water!. U will have to make it a couple times till you figure out just the right amount of sugar you like!
Done it like this for the last 20 years!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

alot of sugar! instead of using tea bags, use tea leaves then place hot water with heaps of sugar let it firment for about 10-15 mins!. place in jug or bottle, cut up fresh lemons and place in fridge to let it cool!. The lemon will take away the bitter taste of tea once it has cooled down!.!.!. u can also try this with peach but plcae the sliced peaches in the hot water when mixed with tea leaves!.!. Good LuckWww@FoodAQ@Com
