Cooking with 5 year olds...?!
ok so i baby sit for a little girl and a little boy the little girl is 5 and the boy is 3!. i no theres not alot for the boy cause of the age but is there any easy recipes for a 5 year old to be able to help with!? maybe like chocolate chip cookies or peanut butter!? how can i get them involved in the cooking!? And what are some good recipes!?

Puppy chow (aka moneky munch, muddy buddies) is a good recipe for kids,they can stir,mix, and add the ingredients; you melt PB, chocolate chips, chex cereal (or crispx), and powdered sugar and shake it all together in a large plastic bag!. If you make cookies, use a small (1- 1 1/2 in!. diameter) ice cream scoop to scoop the cookies onto the pan!. Have fun!

I would not encourage having 5 and 3 year olds around a stove or oven or doing anything complicated or messy!.
I would go with something like jello!.!.!. make large jello sheets in a baking pan and let the kids cut out shapes, letters with cookie cutters!. My kids loved spelling their names with jello letters!.
It's safe, simple, educational, minimal mess, lots of fun and yummy!.
You can use different cookie cutters every time (they are pretty cheap, you can buy them in grocery stores, craft stores, might even find some in a dollar store), that way it stays interesting for a long time!.

i was babysitting for three boys (ages 10, 8, 6) and they loved this!. i had them have a s'more making contest!. just bring over the basic smore ingredients and bring over sprinkles, whipped cream, chocholate chips, stawberrries, caremel sauce, candies, ect!. then have each kid try each one to see who's is best! or decorate cookies with them becuase not every parent will want you turning on an oven and messing up their kitchen while they are out!. to decorate cookies make sugar cookies at your house, then bring them over to thier house, and bring sprinkles and icing!. or you could make tye-dye cupcakes which is really fun
