One way would be to use a covered container and put it in the microwave!. The biggest problem I see is that you salted it!. Salt is an astringent, which means is sucks out moisture!. This is not how you want to cook meats!. Never salt your fish and meat before cooking!. Only do so afterward, and only enough to enhace the flavor!. Too much of anything, besides cash, is not a good thing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sounds like you steamed it too long!. All the salmon I ate in Juneau, Alaska was cooked but just until it was no longer dark in the center!. Overcooking makes it dry!. Every piece of salmon is a different thickness and can have a different amount of fat so the timing can vary!. I have steamed cod and I do that by putting Romaine lettuce in the upper part of the steamer, set the fish in a single layer on the lettuce, and cover with another piece of lettuce!. It holds in the moisture!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You may have cooked it too long!. Steam the fish until it flakes easily with a fork!. Here's are two recipes I like!.

I suspect it might be how long you steamed them, rather than the seasonings!. 5 or 6 minutes should be long enough!. Just until you can easily slip the tip of a knife in them and they don't look raw any more!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Don't cook so long!. That is why salmon gets dry, because it is over cooked!. it only needs to be steamed or cooked /just until it flakes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
