When you're grilling hot dogs, do you cut slits into them first? If so, vertical or horizontal slits? Why?!
Answers:
If you cut 4 slits about 2/3 of the way up the hotdog - those little "legs" will spread apart and my kids make octopus creatures out of them!. They squirt ketchup for the eyes and the mouth!. Just a fun fact for ya!. By the way - I don't slit my hotdogs when I'm grillin them - this keeps the juices in and makes them tastier!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Ooo! Ooo! If you cut an "X" on each end and cook them on the grill a little bit, they will look ( what we call them ) like spider dogs! Try it it's a Halloween delicacy!
The ends will curl up and look like little legs, add a little ketchup or mustard and your spider dogs are the hit of the party!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I do!. It stops them from curling up I find!. I do horizontal ones!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I cut them on a slant, I think it looks cute on the bun after grilling and the catsup oozes into the groovesWww@FoodAQ@Com
I do cuts on a slant!. Even when frying them in a pan!. The hot dogs don't curl!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
