You create a new recipe everytime you deviate ingredients or cooking methods from the original recipe!. So, you are creating everytime you add or subtract an ingredient!. Experiment with recipes, decide what you like and dislike about the dish and change it!. Something as simple as choosing different herbs and spices can totally change the taste of a dish!. I rarely make a dish from a recipe, but I use recipes as guidelines all the time!.

However, beware of changes in baked goods like cakes for example!. Baking is not really a recipe but a formula!. That's why it is important to measure all ingredients accurately!. It's OK to change spices or flavorings in a cake, but don't mess around with the basic ingredients or you will end up with an inferior product!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't cook, but I want to be a chef when i'm older!. Here's what I could think of right now: what do you think happens when you use an ingredient for example, a cookie!? I don't really know what happens, but there was an ingredient (the dough or something, don't remember) that rises when it recieves the heat from the oven!. What I'm saying is: carefully examine what happens when a certain ingredient is affected by some things like heat or coldness, then think what the flavors would taste like with other ingredients!. I'm just saying think of what the flavors would taste when you mix it with other tastes!. example: orange chicken, the chicken flavor with that flavor from the sauce just has that good taste (or what it tastes like to you, ya know, kinda like that Ratatouile thing)!. Hope this helps, even if it looks really big!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Choose and ingredient then experiment with different things that you like, you never know the weirdest combination turn out really good! I managed to create my own recipe out of a disaster the other night!. Instead of tuna carbonara, I ended up making some sort of cheesy-scrambled egg-veggie pasta, which wasn't as bad as it sounds :-) so just go for it!Www@FoodAQ@Com

experimintation by starting with a basic "one size fits all" recipe
such as starting with a sugar cookie recipe you end up with a much more elaborate cookie through addition of other ingredients you likeWww@FoodAQ@Com

Just start cooking but don't forget to write down what you do!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Trial and error!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
