How do you cook Ardachokes?!
I'm 15 and I'm home alone today, so I decided to have Ardachokes for dinner!. There's only one problem!. How do I cook them!? I am making two!. If you could be as descriptive as possible that'd be great!. I'm not too good on brief directions!. Thanks a lot and God Bless/Blessed Be!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

sweetie, they arent hard at all just a bit intimidating to look at!.
1wash em good running water up under the leaves and turn em upside down to rinse out any dirt
2!.cut the stem short but not all the way!.
3!.place stem up!.in a pot large enough to cover totally with water!.
4!.they float so you need somthing to hold them down!.(another pan!? somthing)
5!. bring to a boil and allow to cook untill the stem can be pierced easily!.
6!.remove from water putting them upright run cool water on it or let them sit to cool!.
now to eat!. what are you going to do!? you have a plan!?
I like to remove the leaves one at a time ,dip em and scrape the inside with my teeth,not much there really but gives me an excuse to eat lots of dip!.LOL
or you can just remove the bottom leaves untill you can grasp the remaining leave ,pulling up and twisting untill they pop off the heart!.then youre left with the choke which i just scoop carefully with a spoon untill its clean!. again you can eat the heart with dip or chop for a salad or look up recipes for artichoke hearts online!.
my favorite dip!.
equal amounts butter and mayo
1-2 tsp lemon juice
salt
pepper to taste!.
ranch works!.

3!. 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
4!. Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

1!. To prepare artichokes: Fill a Dutch oven with water; add the juice of 1 lemon!. Trim leaves from the top of an artichoke!. Remove the outer layer(s) of leaves from the stem end and snip all remaining spiky tips from the outer leaves!. Trim an inch off the bottom of the stem and use a vegetable peeler to remove the fibrous outer layer!. As each artichoke is prepared, drop it into the lemon water to prevent it from turning brown!.
2!. When all the artichokes are prepared, cover the pan and bring to a boil!. Boil until the base of the stem can be pierced with a fork, 12 to 15 minutes!. Transfer to a cutting board and let stand until cool enough to handle, about 10 minutes!.
3!. Meanwhile, preheat grill to medium!. Slice the artichokes in half lengthwise!. Scoop out the choke and first few inner layers in the center until the heart is revealed!. Brush each half with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper!. Grill the artichokes until tender and lightly charred, about 5 minutes per side!. Transfer to a serving platter, squeeze half a lemon over them and garnish with the remaining lemon half cut into 4 wedges!. Serve warm, at room temperature or chilled!.

The easiest way is to boil artichokes!. But first you need to trim them!. Take a pair of kitchen scissors and cut the outer leaves about in half this will expose another row of thorns keep trimming until you have removed all the tips!.
Cut of the top of the artichoke about a quarter of the way down that is all tips and has no meatiness to it!.

I enjoy steaming them for about 30 minutes!. Get a pan big enough for both, fill to about 2 inches and place artichokes in the pot!. Cover and turn to medium heat!. You will know when they are done by pressing down in the middle and it will be soft and the leaves will pull away from the center!. Melt butter in a separate dish and dip in the butter!. Some people dip the leaves in mayo!. As you pull the leaves off and dip in butter, using your teeth, scrape the artichoke meat!. !. !. yum!.

I love them myself!. You can boil them for 45 minutes in water and eat it with melted garlic lemon butter, and then peel off the leaves and scrap the bottom part between your teeth!. as you get closer to the center you can actually eat the whole leaf and the heart of the choke without scraping them with your teeth!. at the very heart of the choke are little hairs that you need to scrape of with a spoon as they are inedible!. enjoy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

4)melt half a stick of butter in microwave
