I make my oatmeal with milk and cook in the microwave!. Before I add the milk, though, I mix in some cinnamon and sugar - either white or brown depending on my mood!. Then I add the milk and microwave on high for 4!.5 minutes!. I use 1/2 cup of quick oats to 1 cup milk!. If you like fruit, mix in some raisins, dried cranberries, dried apples, dried peaches or dates before cooking - after cooking mix in some fresh slice strawberries, fresh blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, sliced bananas, sliced peaches or some applesauce!. You can also mix in some maple syrup either before cooking or after - use as much or as little as you like as it is a personal taste preference!. You can also mix in some pecan or walnut pieces if you like nuts and like it crunchy or you can mix 1/4 cup Grape Nuts in with your dry oatmeal before cooking - this is always a different taste!. also, I never add salt to my oatmeal - I like it better that way!.

Don't cook the oats!. Place them in a bowl, add some sliced or slivered almonds, some walnut or pecan halves, cranraisins, and maybe some raisins!. Pour over a little yogurt (vanilla or a custard flavor) and mix it all up!. You could also use some sour cream in place of the yogurt if you don't have any - the fruit should sweeten the sour cream!. You could also add some fresh fruit to the above if you have it for another texture - like apples or peaches or nectarines!.

try using old-fashioned oats, put some water in there!.
