Answers:
No, It is ready to eat after opening the can!. I like to remove the bones even though they are edible!. I also remove the soft dark skin that is still on the salmon before I add a little Kraft Miracle Whip and spread this delicious salmon mixture onto bread with a little lettuce for my sandwich!.
Sometimes I make salmon patties for lunch or dinner!.
Salmon Patties
1 6 oz can salmon with juice
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
2 eggs
1/4 tsp pepper
Mix all ingredients and form into patties and fry for ten minutes on each side on medium heat in one tbsp olive oil !.
Cover and let stand for five minutes to make sure the patties are cooked thoroughly!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

ANYTHING in a can is cooked!!! You can use most things directly from the can without heating or cooking!.

I make a salmon salad similar to tuna salad!. I also shred the salmon onto scrambled eggs sometimes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hmm lets see here do you think that they would have raw tuna sitting in a can for months and months on end and be able to sell to the public!?

No of course you don't have to cook it first but it is an option!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
