How do I bake a cake with two layers with a regular box of cake mix?!

Question: How do I bake a cake with two layers with a regular box of cake mix!?
Do I just put it in two 5 by 9 pans and then just put frosting in the middle when they're done!? Sorry, I'm new to baking and I'm making my mom a birthday cake, so I know it's a rather dumb question!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Using any store bought cake mix, you can divide the batter between two 8-inch cake pans or two 9-inch pans that have been well greased with shortening, or butter!. If you have any kitchen parchment paper, you can set the cake pan on the parchment and draw a circle around the pan, then cut it out with sissors and put the cut-out parchment in the cake pan after it is greased!. This will ensure that the cake won't stick to the bottom of the cake pan!. When the cake layers have cooled (at least 35 minutes) then you can apply icing/frosting to them!. Put a dab of icing on the cake plate and then position the first cake over the icing (so the cake doesn't slip off the plate)!. Then apply icing!. If you are using store bought icing, you can stir a teaspoon of vanilla flavoring into it when you are ready to ice the cake!.
If I used a 9x13 pan, I wouldn't cut it in half!. I'd make a cake board out of cardboard and cover it with foil and put a spoonfull of icing on the foil board to anchor the cake then proceed with icing it!. If you make your own cake board, you'll need enough cardboard for at least two thickness or just go down to the Bakery Shop and buy one for a dollar!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes!.!.!. just divide the prepared cake mix into 2 round pans!.!.!. make sure you either coat the pans with butter and then lightly sprinkle flour or spray the pans with Pam to prevent the cake from sticking to the pans when you dump the baked cake out!.
Once the cakes have completely cooled!.!.!. frost the bottom layer top only, then place the second cake on top of that and frost the sides, then last frost the top of the cake!.
I have found if you are using the can frostings you will need two cans for a layer cake!.!.!.otherwise the frosting will be skimpy in places and not look to good!Www@FoodAQ@Com

You're right--just divide the batter into two pans!. Using two boxes would be a huge cake!. Make sure both cakes are completely cooled before you frost them!. If they're not absolutely completely cooled, you'll have a mess with the frosting!. Stack them together with frosting in the middle, and then frost the entire cake which will hide the "seam" in the middle of the cake!. Happy birthday to your mom!Www@FoodAQ@Com

U could bake it regularly!.!. and when it's done, u'll just divide it horosontally into two or three layers!. and then u should brush to moist them with sugar syrup and a little rum (if u like),to prevent the cake from crumbing!. then spread the frosting on the bottom layer!.!. repeat the same step after each layer, until the top layer, before u cover the cake with the frosting!.!. Good Luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Use 2 round cake pans or 2 9inch square pans-divide the batter in half!. Let them cool all the way before frosting!.Put a layer of frosting on top of 1 cake then put the other cake on top!. then frost the whole cake!.If you have time to put the layers in the freezer before frosting them it make it easier!. Good Luck!.!.!.you mom will love it!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I wouldn't recommend using 2 5x9 loaf pans - the cakes might not bake all the way through!. You could bake all the batter in a 9x13 pan and let it cool thoroughly!. Cut it in half crosswise and you get 2 6x9 layers!. Be sure to grease & flour the pan completely or use Baker's Joy so that it doesn't stick!. If I made absolutely no sense, please feel free to e-mail me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just bake the cake in one pan and then when it's done, cut into two halves with a piece of string, sliding it in the middle of the cake from side to side!. Take the top part out, fill with favorite filling, put the top half back on and ice!. Happy cooking!Www@FoodAQ@Com

divide the batter between to 8in round cake pans then frost in the middle and then the whole cake hope this helpsWww@FoodAQ@Com
