First of all, good on ya for making the effort to help them celebrate their anniversary!.
I love roast lamb!. Great start!. Add some garlic slivers poked into the roast and some rosemary leaves tossed about and you can't go wrong!.
Several great suggestions on veggies!. Go with something you know they both like!.
Here's a great thing to do with potatoes that will make them special!. When you go to mash them, add some grated cheese!. I like Gorogonzola (or another blue cheese) but only if you know they like blue cheese, too!. Another great possibility is grated Parmesan (preferably Parmagiano Reggiano--NOT the green box, please)!. You can also blend in some sour cream!. One of these will definitely set your meal apart!.
I LOVE that you're learning to cook this early!. I was only up to toasted cheese sandwiches at your age!.!.!. not that there's anything wrong with that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

id roast some vegetables to go with it!. a medley of potatoes, onions, carrots and broccoli would be good!. most people have never had roasted broccoli but its really good!. quarter the potatoes and onions, cut the carrots into about two or three-inch pieces, and cut the broccoli into florets!. Toss the vegetables with 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter, 2 cloves minced garlic, salt and pepper to taste!. Preheat your oven to 425, spread on a baking dish lined with wax paper or aluminum foil, and raost for 20-25 minutes until fork-tender!. Stir once halfway through cooking!. Yum!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Try mashed sweet potatoes!.
Ordinary mashed potatoes and parsnips!. Boil together and mash!.
Savoy cabbage or green peas steamed of the potatoes as they are cooking and then folded in to the mashed potatoes!.
These make an interesting change!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

3!. Onion
4!. Pumpkin
5!. Maybe some peas (:Www@FoodAQ@Com
