Dragon my dear, the best way to roast a coconut is to drain the water, break it open, and put it on a sheet pan!. Bake it in a 375° oven for fifteen minutes!. This should loosen the meat, and the rest can be done with a butter knife and a vegetable peeler!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
It's not a precise recipe, it depends how "roasted" you like it!. First, wrap it in a towel and chop it into large pieces with a hammer!. Then put the pieces on a baking pan and put it at about 250 degrees for about 20 minutes!. that makes it taste nice and it's easy to remove from the shell!. Let it cool, then you can get the coconut out easily with a screwdriver or a knife!. Then cut the coconut pieces up, put it in a tupperware with water in the fridge, and enjoy!. Yum!Www@FoodAQ@Com
usually you roast it after removing it from the shell to give it more flavor!. it still requires you to cut the meat out 1st, then you place it on a baking sheet and put it under the broiler until it starts turning brown
i don't know how this would help with the shell, and might actually make the coconut taste worse since it would be adding some of the shell flavoring to the meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
