Can I use a stand mixer when the recipe calls for a food processor?!

Question: Can I use a stand mixer when the recipe calls for a food processor!?
I'm making pizza tonight, and my favorite pizza dough recipe calls for a food processor!. I don't have one (my roommate did, but I just got married and moved out)!. However, I do have a KitchenAid stand mixer!. Would I be able to use that instead!? Could I just use the regular mixer attachment!?

Here is the recipe, if you're interested:

This is a recipe from the Kitchenaid user guide!. Follow the directions here to see how to use the mixer to make the dough!. You should only use Speed 2 when using the dough hook!. For the amount of flour listed in the recipe you plan to use, you really need to use the dough hook!.

Crusty Pizza Dough

1 package active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
(105°F to 115°F)
1?2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons olive oil
21?2-31?2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon cornmeal

Dissolve yeast in warm water in warmed mixer bowl!.
Add salt, olive oil, and 21?2 cups flour!. Attach bowl
and dough hook to mixer!. Turn to Speed 2 and mix
about 1 minute!.

Continuing on Speed 2, add remaining flour, 1?2 cup
at a time, and mix about 2 minutes, or until dough
clings to hook and cleans sides of bowl!. Knead on
Speed 2 about 2 minutes longer!.

Place dough in greased bowl, turning to grease top!.
Cover!. Let rise in warm place, free from draft, about
1 hour, or until doubled in bulk!. Punch dough
down!.

Brush 14-inch pizza pan with oil!. Sprinkle with
cornmeal!. Press dough across bottom of pan,
forming a collar around edge to hold toppings!.
Add toppings, as desired!. Bake at 450°F for 15 to
20 minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, it should be fine!. Just remove the dough from the mixer once all your wet ingredients are incorporated and knead by hand!. You can also mix in a bowl with a spoon!. Mix all your dry ingredients together then add your wet ingredients!. It should work fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The only reason they use a food processor is because they are usually more prevalent in the home kitchen!. Just follow the instructions till bringing the dough together in the bowl!. Then turn out, knead, and finishWww@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, but you will have to mix longer, and more slowly than a processor!. Dont turn the speed up too high, and it should turn out fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The mixer will do the job, but if it also has a dough hook, use that insteadof the regular blade!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can make it in your Kitchen Aid!. Use the dough hook and don't put the speed higher than 2 (the one after stir)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

oh yeah, your mixer will be fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
