Not at all, the lemon juice complements the vanilla flavor!. THere are tons of recipes that call for this!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
If you want it to be lemoney, then you'd need more than a few drops of lemon juice!. I'd recommend a few drops of lemon extract if you have it, since less moisture would affect the final texture less!. But if all you have is lemon juice, I'd say at least a tablespoon for just a hint, more like 3 or 4 if you want a good lemon flavor!. And if it's fresh squeezed, throw in some zest too, that'll wake it up a bit!.
Or you could make a quick lemon glaze out of 1/4 cup lemon juice and 1/4 cup powdered sugar!. Spread that on the cupcakes first, then top off with the regular icing!. That would be good too!.
But if you don't have much available, then go ahead with the few drops!. You might not notice it, or you might get a subtle hint, but just a few drops definately won't hurt it at all!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Actually you should not use lemon juice, as the acidity of it will cause some of the other ingredients in the icing to bond together causing lumpiness and chewiness!.!.!. Kind of like lumpy gravy, yuk!. Instead I suggest you do as another respondent said: Use the zest!. I recommend a channel knife to zest your lemon with, it leaves more of the fragrant essential oils in the zested zest!. Then mince it finely with your knife!. It will add the essence and flavor of lemon without curdling your icing!

Lemon zest will make it taste much better than the lemon juice!. Use a lemon zester (or a fine grater) to scrape off only the top layer of the lemon peel, and add it to your mixture!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
It will taste good!. Actually may be better just to use the zest!. But be sure to avoid the white part because it's bitter!. Microplanes are magic for zesting!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
You might want to substitute lemon juice for the full amount of vanilla extract to give it a good yummy flavor!.
