Can you make gumpaste flowers with fondant instead?!

Question: Can you make gumpaste flowers with fondant instead!?
Answers:
You can, but your results may vary depending on what kind of flower you are doing!. Certain types of flowers (such as those with petals that require a lot of thinning and ruffling) will not work well with fondant, because it cannot be rolled as thinly without breaking as gumpaste can!.

You can "fortify" your fondant by mixing equal amounts of gumpaste and fondant together, or by adding GumTex, a strengthener, to fondant!. You can purchase GumTex powder in most craft stores that sell cake decorating products (Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Joann's, etc!.)

But if the flowers aren't too intricate and the petals don't have to be super thin, than regular fondant will work!.
