I've never heard of using dry cake mix to make anything!.!.!.!.but it may work!. I come from a long line of cooks and when you make peach cobbler it is best no to cut corners!. For the dough you should use flour, water and lard!. Blend/knead till it develops a doughy consistency!. If it is too dry add more water, if too wet add more flour!. The lard will hold it together Next sprinkle flour on a table or counter and place your dough on it (the flour will keep it from sticking) use a roller or anything long and round, dust it wil flour and roll your dough flat into strips or pieces!. The best thing is it doesn't have to look pretty!. In a pan pour in your peaches, sprinkle with sugar cinnamon and butter (sweeten to your taste) and start placing the flat dough over the peaches!. Make sure to allow just a little dough to either smush on the sides of the pan or overlap the pan to make sure it doesn't fall into the peach juice!. Make sure each new piece or strip of dough are touching each other to ensure no gaps in your crust!. Place a few small pieces of butter on top of the dough spacing widely and place in the oven at 350 until the dough has a nice golden brown color!. Trust me it is easier than it sounds and the crust will be so moist and soft!.!.!.!.!.!.Good luck with which ever one you choose!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
It sounds more like a dump cake than a cobbler!. My son's boy scout troop is known for their dutch oven cobblers but they are really just a dump cake!.
Grease your pan, pour in the peaches (not pie filling), sprinkle a box of yellow cake mix over the top, and drizzle the melted butter (1 stick) over the top and bake at 375 until it is all bubbly and starting to brown!.
This is just awesome over vanilla ice cream!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
