Answers:
It all depends!. Be careful when you do this!. There are some *margarines* that say right on the container 'do not use for baking'!. Butter has to contain 80% fat, and margarine has to contain 80% vegetable fat!. Spreads contain less than 80% fat by weight and have more water!. If you used a spread, definitely that will cause some problems!. It is a common mistake to think a certain Spread is a margarine!. Double check what you use is actually margarine and that the fat content is at least 80%!. also, the tubs can have air whipped in them, so only the sticks should be used for baking!. Follow these guidelines and you should be okay!. :-)Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can use margarine but, there will be a difference in taste!. I am Jewish and according to our dietary laws we are not supposed to use meat and dairy products together, so I know a lot about replacing margarine for butter in recipes!.
Absolutely no need to use more margarine than butter!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hard margarine, yes but not soft margarine!. I use Monarch as it is already in 1/2 cup servings and easy to use!. It works just as well in everything but shortbread cookies!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Use 1/3 more margarine than it calls for butter!.

It is nearly interchangeable, but not quite!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I alway use margarine and my cookies always turns out ok!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
