I like to use wax paper and spray it with that "Pam" cooking spray for baking they make a special one for baking!. I use that and have never had it stick!. I have never had a problem with the wax paper melting or buring I use it all the time when I make Pumpkin nut rolls!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

no no no NO!!!! use typing paper and cut to size of your pan!. then grease it with whatever you have, butter, lard, pam, oil, shortening, whatever!.

The waxed paper is not a good sub here!. It will stick to the pan and you can't get the wax back out of the pan!.

also never cool a cake more than 15 minutes before dumping the cake out on the "waxed" paper!. Or it will always stick!. You can reheat cakes for about 10 minutes in 350F oven then flip the cake out maybe!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

We often used oiled waxed paper at home for a cookie we made; we would put the oil in the pan and press the wax paper on top of it; then turn the paper over and reinsert it--makes it easy to oil it!. Here in Nebraska, we have Alco stores (or Duckwall) and they sell parchment paper pretty reasonably at about 2!.19 a roll!. I really prefer that!Www@FoodAQ@Com

You have a few options here, butter and flour the pans well, shake out excess, or use pam, or bakers joy, a butter/oil/ flour mix in a can that makes baking really easy,!. parchment is great, but best for other uses!. Unless you are baking a fruit cake, don't waste it on the cake pan, use the others above!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

NO! waxed paper will melt in the oven! Parchment paper isn't that expensive and will last a long time (since you rarely use it), so buy a package of it!. If you do use butter, make sure it's UNsalted (the salt can burn); Crisco or oil will work too, but you still stand the chance that the bottom will stick to the pan!. Pam makes baking spray, which is good!. It contains the oil and flour in it!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm always leary of using waxed paper in the oven!. I don't know if it will melt or not, but I don't want to take the chance!. I would say buy the parchment paper!. I use it when I make cookies and use the same sheet over and over again until I've made all the cookies!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have used waxed paper in a pinch when I don't have any parchment!. I have always used it dry (no added greasing) and have had satisfactory results!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Parchment is better, but wax paper will work!. Butter or shortening would be best to grease it with!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

butter always works for me :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
