Can peanut-butter get old?!

Question: Can peanut-butter get old!?
if its sitting there for a longtime and the expiration date says 9/09!.!.!.never openWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
then it's fine!. as long as it hasn't been opened ad it's consumed before the date shown!. if by any chance it's been sitting in your fridge, it might be hard, i suggest sticking the jar in some hot water to soften it up a bit, otherwise it'll be like incredibly sticky sand!. otherwise, methinks it's fineWww@FoodAQ@Com

Your nose should tell you if it is ok to eat, remember that these dates are only a guide, where and how it has been stored will have a bearing on how long it will last, but if you have any doubt about it DONT eat it or it will make you very ill!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you should be able to taste when it's gone bad (smell, too) - it's made from a nut and the oils will go rancid when it's past it's time!. There'll be no mistaking it, either!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It OK!. If you have it open it tastes the best in the first 3 to 5 days!. Then it can go hard and doesn't taste to good :SWww@FoodAQ@Com
