Baking a cake..need help?!
my mother bought a duncan hines Moist deluxe butter recipe golden premium cake mix!.!.!.!.i want to make it into a lemon cake what do i need to add to it and will it work!.!.!.!.or is there any other types of cakes i can make from using this batter!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just add some lemon juice or lemon extract!.
If adding lemon juice!.!.reduce the amount of water by the amount of juice you add!.
That is, if the recipe calls for a cup and a half of water and you add a fourth cup of lemon juice!.!.only add a cup and a fourth of water instead of a cup and a half!.!.
When I make pineapple up-side down cake I always drain the pineapple tidbits first and save the juice to use in place of some of the water called for in the yellow cake mix!. You know, if the mix calls for 1 and a half cup of water and I have a cup of juice!.!.I add the cup of juice and a half cup of water!. Makes the whole cake taste like pineapple!. Yummy!

Lemon extract is usally so stronge that you don't have to add very much thus you don't have to reduce the amount of water!. Just make up the mix according to the box instructions and then add one teaspoon of extract at a time until it tastes right to you!.
I use this extract trick, usually with white cake mixes, when ever I want to make fruit flavored cakes but don't have fruit juices to add!. I usually add a few drops of food coloring to match the flavor!.!.!.red with strawberry extract!.!.!.red & yellow (to make orange) with orange extract, etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your best bet would be finding a lemon cake batter or making it from scratch!. The ingredients in cakes differ too much to even attempt it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
