Need dinner ideas?!


Question: Need dinner ideas!?
I am making hamburgers tonight and can't think of anything to fix with them!.I don't have fries or chips & that is what I usually would fix because my hubby prefers that!.I was thinking of something maybe with potatoes or something!.Any ideas!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Pesto Potato Salad
Pesto is a great a pick-up for potato salad

2 pounds new potatoes, scrubbed

2 tomatoes, cored and diced
1/2 cup red onions, minced
1 cup celery, finely chopped
1 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup unflavored yogurt
Pesto (Ingredients below)

Method

Steam whole unpeeled potatoes until soft when pierced with a fork, about 30 to 40 minutes!. Let cool to room temperature and cut into bite-sized cubes!. Place in a large bowl and toss gently with tomatoes, onions and celery!.

Dressing: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, yogurt and 1/4 cup pesto!. Pour dressing over potato mixture and toss gently, gently to combine!. Refrigerate for half an hour to one hour to chill!.

Pesto:

1/4 cup nuts of your choice
3 garlic cloves
2 cups packed fresh basil leaves
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
2/3 cup olive oil
Put all pesto ingredients except for oil, into a food processor!. Process until finely ground!. With motor running, gradually add oil until pesto is the consistency of mayonnaise but has some texture to it!. Do not puree!. Add freshly ground pepper to taste if you like a spicy flavor!. Transfer to a small jar and pour a thin film of olive oil over surface of pesto!. Cover tightly and store in refrigerator if not using immediately!.

Three Cheese Green Salad

INGREDIENTS:
1 large head leaf lettuce -
rinsed, dried and torn into bite-
size pieces
1 cup cubed Swiss cheese
1 cup crumbled feta cheese
1 cup shredded Parmesan
cheese 1 cup toasted pecan pieces
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup white balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon freshly ground
black pepper

DIRECTIONS:
1!. Combine lettuce, Swiss cheese, feta cheese, Parmesan cheese and pecans in a large bowl!. In a small bowl, whisk together oil, vinegar, Italian seasoning, and pepper!. Add dressing to salad and toss well

PARMESAN STICKS
1 pkg!. puff pastry sheets, thawed according to package directions
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 375 degrees!. Sprinkle cheese over your work surface!. Roll out the puff pastry on the cheese, turning a few times so the cheese is worked into the dough, until the dough is about 1/8" thick!.
Using a sharp knife or a pastry cutter, cut into 1/2" strips and carefully place on parchment paper lined cookie sheets!. Bake at 375 degrees F for 12-16 minutes until they are browned and crisp!. Cool thoroughly and remove carefully from baking sheets!. Store in airtight container!. Serves 16

Chipped Beef spread - mix the beef with room temperature cream cheese and a few tablespoons of chopped regular or green onions!. Salt to taste!. Serve with a knife to spread on the crispbread!.

Cowboy Beans

? lb!. bacon
1 lb!. hamburger
? cup chopped onions
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup plain ketchup
4 Tbs!. apple cider vinegar
1 (53 oz!.) can pork & beans, with sauce
2 (14 oz!.) cans of yellow butter beans, drained
2 (14 oz!.) cans of red or kidney beans, drained & rinsed

Fry, or microwave, bacon until crisp!. Drain grease off and blot with paper towel!. Brown hamburger and onions, drain, then crumble and add bacon!. Place all in a crock pot or casserole and add the sugar, ketchup, vinegar and prepared beans!. Mix well and simmer on high in crock pot until it starts to bubble, the reduce heat to low and cook for about 3 hours!. Or bake in the oven in a large casserole at 300° for 1? hours!.

Pita chips:

12 pita bread pockets
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried chervil


DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C)!.
Cut each pita bread into 8 triangles!. Place triangles on lined cookie sheet!.
In a small bowl, combine the oil, pepper, salt, basil and chervil!. Brush each triangle with oil mixture!.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 7 minutes, or until lightly browned and crispy!. Watch carefully, as they tend to burn easily!

Chocolate Sybil Cake

Cake:
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 (16-ounce) can chocolate syrup (recommended: Hershey's)
Frosting:
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup evaporated milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F!. Grease and flour a 13 by 9 by 2-inch pan!.
For the cake: Using an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy!. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each addition!. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together in another bowl!. Add to creamed mixture, continuing to beat!. Add vanilla and chocolate syrup to batter and mix well!. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes!. Just before cake is done, prepare frosting!.

For the frosting: Put butter, chocolate chips, sugar and evaporated milk in a saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil!. Stirring ingredients together, boil for 2 to 3 minutes!. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and nuts!. Pour over warm cake!.

Peaches and Cream Pie:
Ingredients
1 cup white sugar
1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups fresh peaches - pitted, skinned, and sliced
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie

Directions
Line a 9 inch pie pan with crust!. Place peaches in the unbaked pie shell!.
Cream together the sugar and butter or margarine!. Add the egg, flour, and vanilla; mix together completely!. Spread this mixture over the top of the peaches!.
Bake at 300 degrees F (150 degrees C) for 1 hour!.


Strawberry Lemoande:

Ingredients
1 (12 fluid ounce) can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
4 1/2 cups water
1 (10 ounce) package frozen strawberries, partially thawed

I've been doing something recently, like steak fries!. I peel potatoes and quarter them lengthwise, then fry on medium or a bit below!. Fry on one flat side until brown, then on the other side until brown, then over on their backs, put the lid on and turn the burner off!. Pretty good!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Serve 'em over egg noodles and smother them in brown gravy!.

u could just slice potatoes(in shape of fries) coat with oil spices and bake so its homemade fries, veggies and dip wouldnt be too badWww@FoodAQ@Com

if you have a fresh potato or two, grate them up and make hash browns!. Or peel and slice them and make scalloped potatoes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
