Mashed pot.?!

Question: Mashed pot!.!?
how do you make ur mashed potatoes!? i've heard of adding milk and stuff!.!.!. do u peel them 1st!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I never peel mine, just scrub, slice, and boil!.
The peel adds a great flavor, not to mention nutrients!.

You slice them uniformly, then boil in salted water until you can run a paring knife through with no resistance!.

Mash up by hand, add some butter, and some liquid, which can be milk, cream, half and half, or even chicken broth!. Its all good!. Then add lots of pepper, and salt to taste!.

You can add garlic, chives, any variety of seasonings and spices, whater you like!. Mashed potatoes are the perfect blank canvas!.
But be careful!. If you're using dried, remember, it gets stronger the longer it sits!. Especially if you use milk or cream, since the fats will help carry flavors!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Most often I will peel about half of the potatoes I will be cooking!. The peel is a great source of fiber!. Boil the potatoes until fork tender!. Strain!. In the mean time, heat some milk and butter, but do not boil it!. It only needs to be warm!. Mash the potatoes a little bit and then add the milk and butter!. Sometimes, if I want them really creamy I will use the hand mixer!. Careful not to mix to much or you'll end up with glue-like potatoes!. Sometimes I will add a small amount of cheddar cheese!. I also like garlic mashed potates, so I will just crush some garlic and heat it up a bit before adding it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If I'm using red potatoes, I don't peel them!. Otherwise, I do!.

Either way, I cube the potatoes, cover them with water, and boil until I can cut them with a fork!. Then I add butter, milk, salt, pepper, some sour cream, and perhaps some parmesan cheese or chives or rosemary, depending on what I have on hand!. No measuring, I just add ingredients a little at a time until I think it's right!.

I like to whip mine with an electric mixer; they come out nice and fluffy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

peel your potatoes then cut into equal sized pieces about 2 inch by 2 inch place in a pan with cold water to a inch above them add some salt bring to the boil and simmer till a knife meets little resistance when pushed in drain off in a colander and add some cream and butter or you could use margarine and milk while mashing with a potato masher keep adding a little bit at a time till the desired consistency is reached you will need more milk/cream than butter/margarine keep tasting and adding salt and pepper once there is no lumps left stop mashing use a spoon to mix it if you need to if you over work your potatoes they will go glueyWww@FoodAQ@Com
