Pasta... how to cook it?!

Question: Pasta!.!.!. how to cook it!?
Which way is right to cook a spagetti!? Shall I break in 2 pieces or the whole spagetti!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Always start with at least a gallon of water with 2 tablespoons of salt!. Pasta cooked without salt is tasteless!.

do not put oil in it, it is useless and interferes with sauce adhesion

don't break it in half, learn to twirl it on the fork!. Use a spoon to help if you need it!.

Cook the pasta until it is "al dente" meaning it has just a bit of resistance to the bite when you eat it!. Typically the shorter time listed on the package (e!.g!. 7 -9 minutes) is a good approximate!.

Drain the pasta and do not rinse it, unless it's for macaroni salad, but that wouldn't be spaghetti!.!.!. The little bit of starch on the outside helps the sauce stick!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think that breaking it in half is best as it helps get the job done in the pot much easier and once the sauce is on it, you don't know the difference!.
I don't think adding oil to the water really helps, but it does prevent it sticking together if you stir the pasta in the boiling water for a few minutes imediately after putting it into the pot of boiling water!. lower the heat so that the pasta boils at a gentle roll, and do not over cook it!. Less soft (al dente) is better than too soft!. While boiling, add a pinch or more of salt to the water!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

it likely won't all go in at once, so to cook it more evenly you want to break it in half:

If not, you'll have to gently push it down (the parts in the water will go soft and bend)

So you would first bring a big pan of water to the boil; add salt if you wish, and a splash of olive oil (to stop the pasta from sticking together)
Put the Spaghetti into the boiling water - it likely won't all go in at once, so you'll have to gently push it down (the parts in the water will go soft and bend)
Keep it boiling gently for about 9 minutes (longer if you like it softer)
Test a strand for yourself and, when it is done to your liking, turn off the heat and pour the water through a seive (over the sink, of course) - don't rinse the pasta, and don't let it drain for very long, it should be served slightly wet
Drizzle over some olive oil, and give a quick twist of black pepper, then add your sauce!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the Italian way is not to break it,
but some ppl do it just to make it easier to eat or they do it if they have kids!. Don't forget to add oil to the boiling water though!.

it doesnt really matter!. it doesnt make the cooking process any different!. it just makes the pasta shorter so u dont have 2 hold ur fork in the air 2 eat(messy) jus make sure 2 put a dab of oil in the waterWww@FoodAQ@Com

it doesn't really matter if you break it or not!.!.!.it just takes less time if you do break them!.!.!.make sure to add salt and oil in the boiling water to add flavor and prevent it from sticking to the potWww@FoodAQ@Com

For casseroles, I break the noodles into 2 or 3 parts!. And I did when my kids were little!. For regular spaghetti, I just do them whole!. Doesn't matter, really!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Breaking it in half is the most Popular way!. It's also easier to manage when eating!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.no splash-back on your chin or clothes!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
