Doughs are thick and used for cookies and pastries or bread and can be shaped with your hands or rolled on a board!.

'batter' is a coating ie breadcrumb origin covering for oven or fried foods, ie fishfingers, kfc chicken

Batter and dough are sometimes used wrongly (interchangeably) to mean a mixture of flour and liquid!. However, there is a difference between batter and dough!. Batter can be easily poured or spooned, like cake batter!. Whereas dough is a flour mixture stiff enough to knead or roll!.
