Cut potatoes into whatever shaped you want (strips, chunks, etc!.!.!.) and fry them in vegetable oil until the get crispy on the outside!. It should take about 10-15 minutes if you start with hot oil!. Don't put the potatoes in the oil until it is hot or they may get soggy but be careful the oil doesn't get too hot before you add them as it may catch fire spontaneously if there is nothing in it and then you have a whole different problem!. When you can add a potato and it sizzles a bit then the oil is ready!. Don't add other things to the oil (like onions) or they won't cook well!. You can reuse french fry oil a couple of times too as long as it isnt too dirty with french fry stuff!. Then put salt on them (or seasoned salt is really good) before they cool to make it stick better!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ingredients
* 4-5 large russet potatoes
* Peanut oil or oil of your choice
* S & P, to taste

Directions
Go ahead & preheat oven to 200 F or 100 C!.
In a large Dutch oven heat oil to 320 F or 150 C!.
Peel potatoes and, EVENLY cut fries into 1/4″ x 1/4″ strips of equal length!. Place in a large bowl of cold water as you’re slicing!.
Drain potatoes thoroughly, removing any excess water!.
When oil reaches 320 degrees, submerge the potatoes in the oil!. Working in small batches, fry for 2 to 3 minutes until they are pale and floppy!. Remove from oil, drain, and cool to room temperature!.
Increase the temperature of the oil to 375 F or 190 C!.
Re-immerse fries and cook until crisp and golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes!. Remove and drain on roasting rack!. Season with salt & pepper!. Once again this is done is small batches and will need to be kept warm in the oven until all potatoes are fried!.

This is the oven method using oil!.
As an idea, in general, egg white can be used for the potatoes, so the seasonings would stick to it and makes them crispy!. I've used margarine on the cookie sheet instead of Pam spray or oil!. Or if you have a nonstick pan then don't use anything!. I like the cajun fries the best!.

Easy oven fries:
nonstick vegetable oil cooking spray (I've used margarine, if I don't have this)
4-5 large baking potatoes cut into 1/4 strips
seasoning blend, your choice

Preheat oven to 450°!.

Spray cookie sheet with nonstick spray!.

Toss potatoes with seasoning choice!. Put on a baking sheet and bake for 20 to 30 minutes, turning every 10 minutes so they brown evenly!.

Bake until browned and crispy!.
---------
Crunchy Seasoned Oven Fries

3/4 cup cornflake crumbs

Italian Fries Seasoning
6 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 teaspoons Italian herb seasoning

Chili Fries Seasoning
1 1/2 tablespoon chili powder
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic salt

1 1/3 pounds (4 medium) potatoes, cut into 1/2-inch thick wedges
1 egg

Heat oven to 375 degrees!.

Coat two baking sheets with vegetable cooking spray!.

Lightly beat egg in shallow bowl!.

In another shallow bowl, mix crumbs and seasoning blend of your choice!.

Dip potato wedges into egg; coat completely with crumb mixture!.

Arrange in single layer on baking sheets!.

Bake 20 minutes, then turn potatoes over and continue to bake 10 to 15 minutes longer, until potatoes are browned and crisp and insides are tender when tested with toothpick or fork!.

Serve immediately, plain or with lemon or ketchup!.

Cajun Style Oven Fries
4 medium potatoes
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon paprika
1/8 teaspoon cayenne (or to taste)
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce (or crushed chili)
1 tablespoon vegetable oil (used 1 tsp of chicken broth instead of oil)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F!.
In a small bowl, combine oregano, thyme, paprika, cayenne, black pepper, sugar, cumin, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, Tabasco sauce, and oil; mix well into a paste!.
Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil; pour a small amount of oil onto foil and spread with a paper towel!.

Peel potatoes and slice into french fry shapes!.

Place fries in a plastic bag with paste and work paste onto fries; alternatively you can do this in a bowl, but the bag method is easier!.

Place fries on lined baking sheet, trying not to let edges touch!.

Bake in preheated oven for approximately 30-35 minutes (your time may vary with the size fry you cut); turn once during cooking to brown underside!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, to make french fries, take potatoes and cut them into thin sticks and blanch them in boiling salted water until they almost break!. After that put them on top of absorbent paper and put them in the fridge!. Afterwards deep fry them twice in oil, once in 130 degrees and the other in 180 degrees until crispyWww@FoodAQ@Com

I just made some last night!. Put about an inch of oil (not olive oil) in a skillet & heat on medium high heat!. Peel (you don't have to) your potato, slice it lenghwise into about 4 pieces & then slice each piece into about 1/4 inch strips!. Put a potato in the hot grease & if it sizzles/bubbles, put the rest in but don't crowd them!. Cook them until they are as brown as you like!. Drain on paper towels & sprinkle with salt!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Micheal Smith, don't be jealous cuz us americans still got our potatoes!.

this is not really french fries but it is pretty awesome!. If you have left over mashed potatoes, throw them in a pan with some oil in it and let it cooks until it turns brown on one side!. Then cook other side!. take it out and enjoy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Peel like 5 potatoes!. Wash them off!. Use a knife and cut them vertically in the size u want!. Drop them in the fryer until they are golden brown, and soft in the inside!. Put them on a plate with a paper towel on it so that most of the oil get drained into the paper towel!. Sprinkle some salt on it or until u have the right amount!. Viola
