Hi Aimee!.

The best way I have found to stop this is to, as soon as you hear the milk fizzing or smell it about to boil over - remove it from the heat and firmly, but not hard enough to spill the contents, bang the saucepan down onto another hot plate!.

It settles the milk very quickly and either stops it from boiling all over your hands, scalding you, or it minimises what is lost!.

This is especially true for hot chocolate or cocoa!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You shouldn't ever boil milk for longer than a second, only up to a simmer (185F-205F)Www@FoodAQ@Com

use a tall sided pan also you should experiment with the desired temperature to simmer the milk just spend an hour or two perfecting the right temp it will save you bother in the long run!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can try a double boiler!. Just like the way you can melt chocolates without burning it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Drop the heat and blow on the milk, this disperses the froth quickly!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Stick it in the microwave!.It's easier to clean up!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

turn the cooker offWww@FoodAQ@Com

Use very low heat!.!.!.!.it takes longer to warm up but won't overboil!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

remove it from the heat sooner, before it starts to rise :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

watch it so it dont duhh!.!.!.!.!. =]Www@FoodAQ@Com
