With a boneless rolled roast-Do i??...?!

Question: With a boneless rolled roast-Do i!?!?!.!.!.!?
Yes may seem like a funny question, but with the rolled/boneless roast it comes with an elastic string wrapped around it!.!.

Do i cut that off before cooking my roast!?!?!.!.!.

Thanks:)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
NO!

It will otherwise fall apart and will not cook evenly!. Only snip apart after it is rested and ready for carving!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No!. It is a cut of meat that the butcher tied up with string or string netting to hold it in a form for cooking!. In this way, it retains the juices better and will taste great if seasoned properly and cooked to medium!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Some people leave the string on if it's like that of cotton!.!.!.any other material!.!.!.take it off!. Usually people only leave cotton string on if they are stuffing the roast with something!. They'll slide it off if possible and then stuff it with whatever they are stuffing it with and then re-string it!. But if you are just slow-cooking it (and if the string isn't cotton) it'll be fine to just cut it off!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you plan on putting stuffing inside, yes!. Cut the string off, unroll the meat, pat on the stuffing, re-roll and then tie it back up with fresh cotton string!.

If you don't plan to stuff it, use a skewer or toothpicks to hold the flap in place and then cut off the elastic string!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it's elastic, then yes cut it off before cooking!. Elastic is made with rubber, which will melt and not taste good!.

If its cotton, which it should be, then go ahead and leave it on!. Keeps things together, which will keep the meat juicier by reducing the surfaces subjected to the heat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you do not want it to fall open whilst cooking it leave it on!. when you go to slice it ,cut it off then !.It wont effect your roast when you cook it with it left on!. ;)Www@FoodAQ@Com

No don't cut it off it keeps the meat together while it's cooking when it's cooked then cut it off before you carve the meatWww@FoodAQ@Com

i leave it on until after cooking, and cut it off befor carving up the meat,if you take it off befor cooking the hole thing will fall apartWww@FoodAQ@Com

I prefer to leave the strings on!. That way the roast doesn't fall apart during cooking!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
